At Family Worship and Praise Center, we strive for men and women to learn the importance of sowing into the kingdom, not only financially, but through their time in service and God given talents. We pray that each person have a Christ like heart and motive in giving, not for mere gain, but to bless God's kingdom.

After completing your New Member’s Orientation classes, we ask that you consider and pray concerning the capacity in which you may serve within Family Worship & Praise Center. Altar Workers

A team of intercessory prayer leaders who not only go to God on your behalf at your request, but also teach you how to talk to God for yourself.

Campus Prayer Group

On campus (FAMU) prayer groups held every Monday night at 7pm that promotes Christian unity through prayer and teaches practical living in Christ.

Christian Education

Established to teach the basic principles of salvation through various methods including classroom instruction, forums, and musical lessons. The following departments are included:

  • School of the Bible
  • Leadership & Biblical Institute
  • CFF School of Music

Community Outreach & Evangelism

Empowering and building up the children of God by equipping them with the information that will assist them in being a witness of the gospel. Also focuses on providing items and services to those in need during pivotal times during the year.

Deacon & Deaconess*

Reaching beyond our walls, the spiritual, mental and physical well-being of the children of God is the core mission of this ministry. They also assist in carrying out sacramental ordinances such as baptism, child dedication and communion.

Food Service

Providing nourishing food for the body, this Ministry is designed to assist in the preparation and serving for special guests and events.


A team of people with a warm smile and kind heart, they are responsible for being an extension of the compassion of love of Christ with a welcoming hug and departing handshake.

Health Ministry

Composed of licensed doctors, nurses and health practitioners, as well as students and persons with a concern for God’s temple (your body), they provide both preventive and reactive health care for FWPC and surrounding community.

HOPE & CFF Scholarship Programs

Offering annual scholarships, the HOPE & CFF Scholarship Programs offers financial assistance for tuition or books to persons attending a post-secondary or trade school who have successfully completed all required criteria.

Intercession Ministry

A missionary organization devoted to training in prayer, spiritual warfare and fasting.

Media Ministry

A "behind the scenes ministry", Media enhances the delivery of the Word of God through audio coordination as well as the heart of the ministry through visual capturing and printed materials. The following departments are included:

  • Video
  • Graphic Design
  • Social Media
  • Website Maintenance

Membership Services

Serving to instruct our membership in the areas of salvation and where we are going as a ministry, they are responsible for the trainings prior to the sacraments including baby dedication, communion and water baptism. In addition, they are the central point of contact for members regarding any questions or concerns, contact information updates, etc.

Men’s Ministry

Helping men to establish a strong, committed and dedicated life of love for God, prayer, Bible study and fasting, equipping them to be spiritual leaders in their homes, churches and communities.

Pre-Marital/Marriage Counseling*

Teaching biblical and practical principles of marriage and life prior to entering marriage covenants as well providing Godly counsel during the marriage.

Prison Ministry

Witnessing and strengthening those who are incarcerated, this ministry is designed to introduce and instruct them to the principles of living a life in Christ.

Security/Parking Ministry

A team of dedicated and attentive workers that are responsible for securing the grounds as well as ensuring that the traffic is moving in a pattern that is efficient for everyone.

Singles Ministry

A Christ-centered ministry for single persons over the age of 19 that is devoted to ensuring the knowledge of God’s expectation of single Christians, growing in the knowledge of and developing a deep and undistracted devotion to God as well as how to take advantage of the unique opportunity of single-hood given by God.

Special Events & Hospitality

Serving God’s servants, the primary focus of this ministry is aimed at planning ministry events and hosting special guests.

Social Assistance*

Designed to assist our members who have proved to be in dire need of support through finding social assistance programs as well as training them in biblical and practical principles of sound financial living.


Provides the transport of those in need to and from scheduled services including students from FAMU, FSU & TCC campuses.

Truthfully Inspired Bookstore

Serves to effectively aid in providing Christian materials as well as the audio and visual recordings for all our Sunday and mid-week services.

Usher Ministry

Ensuring things are done in decency and in order, the ushers serve to maintain the undisturbed flow of the Spirit throughout our services.

Women’s Ministry

Seeking to assist the church in equipping women to reach spiritual, relational and biblical strength and understanding to be able to be a virtuous woman in their homes and community.

Worship & Arts Ministry

A ministering body of worship leaders who have committed their lives to provide devotion that will usher us into the presence of God so that the preached word of God may come forth. This includes the following:

  • Adult Dance
  • Youth Dance
  • Drama Ministry

Youth Ministry

Designed to educate, support and engage the youth in the things of God while helping them to be bold and confident in living their life for Christ.
